Tate Takeover: 3D design 2008
The Tate Takeover project : 23rd February 2008.
Camberwell College of Arts 1st year 3D Design students invite you to play! Come invent, interact and have fun creating 3D landscapes, conquering mazes, constructing furniture, customising a new breed of toys and challenging the artist’s labour. The fair is coming and it’s like no other!
An event held on the bridge of the turbine hall, This project was designed to give the experience of working in 3D which the public could interact. there were a range of different activities for the public to take part it.
1. The Invisible Maze. find your way through without setting off hidden alarms.
2. A new breed of toy.
3. Design your own furniture.
4. Designer in a box.
5. 1000,ways to design using Adidas shoe boxes and Velcro.
6. 8ft Kaleidoscope. watch as the light and glass play with your image, fracturing it into a 100 different ways.
I created an ‘invisible maze’ which was a 10x10 square of posts with wooden houses on top, inside each house there was an infer-red beam, which when broken set off an alarm. This event lasted for an evening with very high public interest.
This was in collaboration with Chloe Carson.. Jo Cooper. Ian Daniel. Georgette McCarthy. Tom Davies. Lucy Rushton Chira Parlanti Emma Payne. Anab Aided. Syeda Rais. Cat Rolley . Owen Hodgkins

i am a designer maker studying and working in London. i am currently studying 3D design at Camberwell College of Arts. i work as a product designer using alot of craft techniques.
I am enamored with Tactile materials. i love the unexpected feel, touches that heighten the senses and make you appreciate the piece on a different level. I work in a variety of mediums,
currently i am working quite strongly in ceramics but also in knitting and a variety of other materials.
on this blog i want to show some of my own pieces but also pieces that inspire me and ones that are just cool.
